SUN - SENSATIONAL

For School Years 1 - 4

We investigate the role sunlight plays in our lives in this hands-on science workshop. A demonstration model shows how our spinning Earth orbits the sun, giving us the seasons and night and day. See how you shape up in a funky distorting mirror, make a rainbow and explore a glow worm cave.

LUMINOUS OPTIMUS

For School Years 4 - 10

Test the sun’s power with a solar furnace, team up for a reflections challenge, and experiment with convex and concave lenses, prisms, colour mixers, light boxes and optical illusions. Plus, there’s the camera obscura, glow worm cave, funky distorting mirror and more.

In addition we have these three ongoing workshops:

MACHINES and INVENTIONS

EXPLORE the FARADAY CENTRE

OLDEN DAYS: TECHNOLOGY

Of the 1930’s and 1940’s
